How are you working to reduce the carbon footprint at the show?
From working with the venue, looking at ourselves and collaborating with exhibitors. But here’s the thing… Visitors’ travel is the biggest carbon emitter of each show. So we need your help. Taking the train instead of driving will reduce the emissions of your journey by around 80%. The NEC is a 5-minute walk from Birmingham International train station or 90 seconds by the free air-rail walk. If you need to drive, car share with friends and reduce your impact by 50%. There’s a great network of cycle and footpaths in the area and bike racks are near the entrance. There are also electric car charging point and more to come in the future…
Is there a cloakroom?
The NEC has a cloakroom before you enter the Show. Visitors with a VIP Ticket will have access to a VIP Cloakroom in the VIP Lounge.
Do I need to book to see a speaker?
No need to book, our speaker program is included as part of your ticket and seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Will there be food stalls?
Yes, there will be a number of NEC-managed food stalls, and some of our exhibitors will sell packaged food items too.
Will I need ID?
We do not require ID to gain entry to the Show.
My question isn’t here
If you still have a question, please email us on [email protected]
General admission tickets
You can book a one-day or weekend ticket.
When will I get my ticket?
Tickets will be sent out a week before the event, bring your ticket along to the Show either printed or on your mobile.
I haven’t received my tickets / I have lost my ticket / I want to amend my booking
The team at See Tickets would be happy to help you with any ticket enquiries here: https://nationalequine.seetickets.com/customerservice
What does the VIP package include?
VIP tickets to indulge in the following perks:
How do I get to the NEC and what facilities are available?
What time can I arrive?
We allow entry to the Hall any time during the day between 09:00 and 17:00 on both days. But if you arrive before 9am we will be giving out exclusive show gifts.
Where can I stay nearby?
We've partnered with EventBeds by NuBreed Hotels to offer exclusive deals at localised hotels with savings of up to 30%. Please visit the EventBeds VIP Concierge link here.
How can I travel sustainably to the show?
When planning your travel please consider your carbon footprint:
I’m in a wheelchair, is the venue accessible?
Yes, the venue is accessible for people with different needs. You can find out more information here: Disabled Visitors to the NEC | The NEC Birmingham but can also contact [email protected] to discuss how we can make the show as accessible as possible.
Will you have a quiet space available?
We will have small area reserved should a visitor need a few moments away from the Show floor – to find out more about this or speak to the team contact [email protected]
Can I bring my pet?
Only support animals are allowed inside the Hall.

Kelly has trained and worked in the equestrian industry her whole life. Starting in the Pony Club, she discovered the world of stunts in her early twenties and hasn’t looked back. She now runs Knights of Middle England alongside Karl and is a professional jouster, stunt rider and performer & qualified horse archery instructor. She heads up the KOME teaching team and manages all the training of their horses. She also has a Warmblood who she events in her spare time!
Heading up The Knights of Middle England is founder and director Karl Ude-Martinez. A
born performer ; professionally trained, Karl’s charisma and enthusiasm for live theatre and shows inspires his team and is evident in all that he does.
He started his riding career almost before he could walk. Coming from an equestrian family
and being brought up on an equestrian centre, meant that he competed at an early age on
the show jumping circuit, team chasing & eventing. It was at school and University that he
found his love for polo – a sport that he now plays professionally as well as being an
international commentator and TV host for prestigious tournaments and events worldwide.
Karl first started Jousting and stunt riding at the age of 14, and performed in live shows and
stunt displays, with several companies, taking him all over the world, before setting up The
Knights of Middle England in 2003. He now writes, produces & directs all the shows for The
Knights of Middle England & KOME Entertainment. He is passionate about combining his
love of horses and performing to create unique equestrian theatre productions of the highest
calibre.
Alongside the shows and filming, his dream was also to shine a light on more of the unique
disciplines, making them more accessible to all, where members of the public could come
and have a go, learn, or train at The Knights of Middle England HQ training centre in
Warwick. These alternative equestrian disciplines range from Jousting, Trick Riding, Horse
Archery & Side Saddle, all taught by professional instructors in their fields and on expert
trained school masters.
The journey to becoming The Blessed Equestrian began at 4 years old. “Growing up in London I haven’t had many opportunities with horses, but I have a passion which has enabled me to create opportunities. Early challenges, When I was a child, I was bullied for the fact I loved horse, in fact when volunteering at my local stables my peers tied me to a tree and constantly excluded me from the group due to the way I looked. In Year 7, I was kicked out of a few mainstream schools when my life would take a drastic turn and pressures led me astray caused me to put my dreams aside and tempting me to associate with the wrong crowd. This really affected me, I struggled to find my identity. Who I am?. ”
However, a pivotal moment at 16, engaging in boxing, empowered a mental shift, rekindling the pursuit of a life within the sport of horse riding. Now with unwavering determination, The Blessed Equestrian is on a trajectory towards the goal: becoming a 5-Time Olympic Gold Medallist, emerging as a beacon of hope for those struggling to find their identity and purpose.
In the face of adversity, The Blessed Equestrian’s story is a testament to the transformative power of passion. Through perseverance, a Christmas Campaign shoot with JD Sports, a platform at Turtle Bay Restaurant, and a viral video with over 2 million views have provided global visibility. Amidst these accomplishments, The Blessed Equestrian remains eager to explore new opportunities with horses, seeking the perfect horses to propel towards his eventing gold medals. Conversations with influential figures like Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Sadiq Khan, and the local Borough Mayor have underscored a commitment to making horse riding more inclusive. At the age of 19, The Blessed Equestrian has also founded his own organization called Blessed Equestrians, driven by his vision to transform the way horse riding is perceived and make it accessible to everyone. Blessed Equestrians aims to foster a community that encourages dreams, challenges stereotypes, and embraces individuals from all walks of life in their journey towards a better tomorrow.
As The Blessed Equestrian reflects on the journey, the message resounds:
“Never give up; your passion is your future.”
The pursuit of becoming a 5-Time Olympic Gold Medallist is not just a personal goal but a promise to inspire others to believe in the limitless potential of their dreams.
Technical Director
Evoke Equestrian Helen has been designing, testing and fitting riding helmets and jockey skulls for almost 20 years. She is currently an expert representative on various European Committees covering Sports Protection; notably Working group 5, involved in drafting and revising new EN 1384 Standard; Helmets for Equestrian activities and Working group 11, involved in drafting and revising EN 13158 Standard; Body Protection for Sports.Luke is part of the small BoysRideToo Magazine team and along with his friend, Finn, was instrumental in the development and direction of the magazine when it first started 3 years ago. Luke has ridden from age 5, joined pony club when he was 9 with his feisty section a, Ellie, and has been dedicated to all things horse ever since. He particularly enjoys drag hunting, hacking and anything where leaving the ground is on the cards. He is very well matched with his pony Ebony, who approaches all these things with great enthusiasm. He is also an Explorer Scout, music fan and a pretty decent guitarist.
Working on the magazine has allowed Luke to try many different disciplines and meet some really inspiring equestrians, but the most valuable thing to Luke has been what many of the readers also report – the contact with other boys who love horses. He hopes he can faithfully represent the experiences of the BoysRideToo readers, his fellow young male equestrians, that have been shared through the magazine.
Flo is a passionate equestrian who loves nothing more than being up on stage, chatting to people about their horsey stories. She juggles her university study alongside competing two event horses and content creation work. When sharing her eventing ventures online, her ethos is always to document the high and the low – the reality of horse ownership isn’t always glamorous after all! Georgia qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2021 and joined Field Equine Vets shortly after.
She enjoys all aspects of clinical work but has a keen interest in internal medicine! Particularly, gastrointestinal, respiratory and endocrine disease.
Georgia also is keen on dermatology, ophthalmology and equine behaviour. She hopes to go on to study a certificate in Equine Internal Medicine in the near future.
Like many of us ‘horsey people’- Georgia’s love of horses and all things equine began at an early age, and she grew up spending countless hours volunteering at a local riding school and caring for her own horses. Georgia was also keen member of the Pony Club.
Outside of work, Georgia is kept busy by her own horse Max- a nineteen-year-old Cob x Thoroughbred.
Georgia has owned Max since she was ten years old, and they now enjoy a slightly easier life hacking around the local area.

Flying Changes was founded in 2012 by Sarah Cheetham, a law graduate and professional International dressage rider, trainer and BD listed judge. A revision of the dress code by British Dressage in 2011 sparked an, as yet untapped, talent and passion in Sarah during the process of designing a truly unique tailcoat for herself. She found a small UK tailor to work with and bought all the fabrics herself. The tailcoat was grey with a salmon pink stripe and collar. At that time something quite extraordinary!
Whilst representing GB at Hartpury CDI that year, Sarah found herself the envy of her fellow competitors and everyone wanted to know where she had bought her new tailcoat. The seed was sown, but it was not until the following year, when Sarah was sidelined due to a back injury, that the business became truly established.

Steph loves adventures with her Welsh Section D mare Bubba and often takes her cross country schooling. She also has a rather cheeky and very cute miniature shetland called Loki.
In June 2023 Steph became the world’s first wheelchair user to ride across the Pyrenees mountains from France to Spain, using the WW2 freedom trails, in an expedition called Ride to Freedom. Helen Haraldsen is a best-selling children’s author, also known as The Writer in Wellies due to the fact that whenever she’s not writing, she’s outside with her horses and dogs in the Cumbrian rain! Helen has always loved books and animals, so, as an author, she combines the two by writing books about the ponies and pooches in her own life. It’s a dream job!
Geoff Billington started riding at the age of nine. His parents were not horsey, however Geoff says “he followed a group pretty girls and finished up at the local riding stables!!!!” It’s there that his love affair with horses began. Ten children, nine girls and Geoff, announced in the local newspaper that they were saving up to buy a pony, a childhood fantasy. That same day a local man rang up and said his children were not interested in the surprise 4 year old pony he had bought them and if they gave £10 to charity they could have the pony.
So only £1 each. Geoff laugh’s, within a few weeks, my sisters had either got boyfriends or lost interest so I got my first Pony!!!
I loved watching the Showjumping on television, my favourites, were Harvey Smith and David Broome.
After teaching myself and Sandstorm to jump, we started to hitch lifts to shows. Geoff recalls, “one of my first rivalries was with a milkman’s son from Huddersfield, he was the same age as me, he was very quiet, very stubborn and a steely determination to win. Geoff laugh’s. His name was John Whitaker!
On leaving school, Geoff went to work for a Manchester night club owner, called Joe Pullen, he owned showjumper’s for David Bowen and Graham Fletcher. Joe gave Geoff the ride on a horse named after his night club, Talk Of The North and at 19 years of age Geoff competed on his first British Team competition in Poland.
He has since ridden in over Fifty Nations Cups for his country.
Geoff says, throughout my career I’d had some fantastic horses and owners. But in 1992 a long time owner sent me a novice 6 year old horse that changed my life. His name was ‘It’s Otto’. He was to become one of the best horses in the world. He kept me in the top ten in the world for over two years.
In 1996 we were selected for the Atlanta Olympic Games where we came 6th individually. In 1997 we had a team Bronze at the European Championships, in Manheim 1998 another team Bronze and Bronze at the Word Championships in Rome, 1999 and in the European Championships at Hickstead we were 6th individually. Then in 2000 we were selected for the Olympic Games in Sydney. Phew what a horse!
Nowadays Geoff still competes. He does lots of coaching and clinics all round the country, Commentry at a few of the top shows all the while producing, buying and selling horses, not to mention, his hilarious after dinner speeches.
When we asked Geoff to sum up his life in Showjumping, he says, he wouldn’t change one thing, “how many people can say their hobby is their job”…. “growing up and going on tour with your mates every week”, especially when the mates have been John and Michael Whitaker plus Olympic Individual Champion, Nick Skelton!!!

I don’t come from a horsey background but at aged 4 I started riding through RDA, which was suggested as a form of physio therapy. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the sport. I start my Para Dressage journey in my teens but found it difficult to progress without my own horse. It wasn’t though until the age of 20 that I was able to buy my first horse Coco and begin my journey as an International Rider. Finding the right horse can take most athletes years so I feel very lucky to have found Coco and that the journey to finding Coco was documented through my documentary “TEGAN” on YouTube commissioned by Netflix.
This year we’ve been selected for our first 3* International, with the aims of Presenting more and documenting exciting opportunities and announcements to come.
