Hello, I’m Michelle, I’m 55 years old, Mum to 4 children, Nan to 2 & wife to my husband James. I have always had horses and have been an avid rider. 9 years ago I woke up with a bad back which turned out to be spondylolisthesis which required a spinal fusion. I was wheelchair bound for years and could only walk a few steps with assistance. I was then further diagnosed with FND which is a neurological disorder which further impacts my mobility and pain levels. My horse Foxy that I have had since I was able bodied passed away 2 years ago (she was lame and I was also unable to ride her). I then researched and bought Sangria who is a Rocky Mountain horse (bought from the lovely people at the Cornmill Stud). Sangria is the most gentle horse who has got me back in the saddle. I now go on hacks and have lessons (in short bursts) and refuse to let these illnesses define or stop me from doing what I love!
