Jadine Huxtable

Hi, I am Jadine – I’m a Mum of two primary school age boys and work 5 days a week in a secondary school, so in between ferrying the kids to school and various after school clubs and supporting my husband’s career and hobbies too, I manage to fit in time for Onyx and I. I’m passionate in showcasing that Mum’s who aren’t working in the equine world can also have a successful ridden career too!

I have owned Onyx since he was 6 months old and he is now 10, he is a Fell Pony Gelding and loves to strut his stuff…We are thrilled to have been invited back as ambassadors this year!

Last year we were hoping to affiliate in BD and not only did we affiliate, but we qualified for 2 Area Festivals, the Midways Champs, the Cavago Associated Champs and represented our riding club in intermediate dressage! It’s been a busy one!

Onyx is on DIY livery on a lovely yard full of natives, and he is definitely a character! My favourite thing about him is that being small and hairy & looking like a ‘cob’ he is often under estimated – I love that he is a rare breed native pony who is out to show the world that he is just as capable as his bigger (less hairy!) friends!

Plans for the next year are to step up to Novice and I am aiming for us to qualify for an Area Festival at this level as well as give Freestyle to Music a go.
