I have owned Onyx since he was 6 months old and he is now 9, he is a Fell Pony Gelding and loves to strut his stuff…everywhere! This year we are hoping to affiliate BD after a winter of surprising success and we may try a ODE this year too!
I am a Mum of two boys aged 7 and 9 and work 5 days a week, so in between ferrying the kids to school and various after school clubs and supporting my husband’s career and hobbies too, I manage to fit in time for Onyx and I! I love to showcase that Mum’s who aren’t working in the equine world can also have a successful ridden career!
Onyx is on a DIY livery on a lovely yard full of natives, and he is definitely a character! My favourite thing about him is that being small and hairy & looking like a ‘cob’ he is often under estimated! I love that he is a rare breed native pony who is out to show the world that he is just as capable as his bigger (less hairy!) friends!
I visited the show this year and was very impressed & would love to represent!
