I have had horses since being a young child. I was a member of North Warwickshire Pony Club as a child. AI ended up with my Pony Club “B” test. As a child I competed successfully across a range of unaffiliated disciplines – dressage, show jumping, showing and eventing. As a 19 year old I had to have spinal surgery to deal with an injury I acquired as a ten year old (falling off my pony). In my twenties I didn’t have my own horse I rode for other people and had one on loan for about seven years until he died aged 24. I then had to have more surgery on my spine and after a break to recover started riding at Radway where I came across my current horse. He was 8/9 when I first rode him (he is a 17.2hh Selle Francais by Pouchka III). I bought him in Feb 2010 for £1000 – he was tricky!!! We have since competed regularly – wining jumping classes up to 1m unaffiliated, we have also done unaffiliated dressage up to novice. More recently we have done a lot of showing – our combined age is 84!!!
