Julie is passionate about the transformative power of Pilates and believes that improving equestrian fitness benefits not only the rider but also the welfare of their horse. With over 25 years of teaching experience in the UK and internationally, she has dedicated her career to helping others improve movement, balance, and body awareness. After serving as a senior faculty member at one of Europe’s largest Pilates training schools, Julie founded Julie Driver Pilates Education, specialising in mentoring Pilates teachers and creating tailored programs for equestrians. Her work is recognised by YMCA
Awards CIMSPA ( Chartered institute for the management of sport and physical activity) reflecting her commitment to high-quality education.
As a lifelong equestrian, Julie integrates her love for horses with Pilates to help riders at all levels—elite three-day eventers to leisure riders—improve their technique, balance, and connection with their horses. She is proud to support the Wesko Equestrian Foundation as their Pilates teacher. Julie’s journey through rehabilitation after two major injuries, including learning to walk again after a 2008 skiing accident, has shaped her empathetic approach to teaching. Her
personal experience with recovery inspires her to help others overcome challenges and build resilience through movement.
In 2014, Julie was honoured as the Pilates Anytime Instructor of the Year and continues to share her expertise globally through online classes and workshops. She also holds the Monty Roberts Introductory Certificate of Horsemanship and is a regular contributor to publications including, Horse and Rider, British Horse, Intelligent Horsemanship, Barefoot horse magazine, Showing world, Pilates style and more.
Julie believes Pilates is the ideal way for riders to improve their posture, strength, and balance, ultimately enhancing their horse’s welfare and the rider-horse partnership. Her goal is to empower riders to feel confident, balanced, and in harmony with their horses.
