Meet an audience of over 10,000 equine-loving consumers
The National Equine Show will take place on 1-2 March 2025 at The NEC. It offers a great shopping-focused day out with interactive features, community meet-ups, and inspiring presentations from experts and equine stars. At the heart of the event are two education theatres packed with inspiration for new and existing equestrians to learn and try new things, with horse and rider inclusion, health, and wellbeing at its core.
Opening times / location
The show will take place at the NEC Birmingham, B40 1NT in hall 9. Opening times will be: 9am – 5pm on Saturday 1st and 9am - 4pm Sunday 2nd March 2025.
How do I book a stand / find out about exhibiting?
You can speak directly to our Event Director Liz Ormesher who would be happy to discuss opportunities to get involved in the Show – she can be reached at [email protected]. You can also find out more information here Get Involved - National Equine Show
Are there any jobs available?
Not currently but please contact [email protected] and we will pass your query on.
If you are interested in speaking at the event we would love to hear from you - please contact [email protected]
How are you working to reduce the carbon footprint at the show?
From working with the venue, looking at ourselves and collaborating with exhibitors. But here’s the thing… Visitors’ travel is the biggest carbon emitter of each show. So we need your help. Taking the train instead of driving will reduce the emissions of your journey by around 80%. The NEC is a 5-minute walk from Birmingham International train station or 90 seconds by the free air-rail walk. If you need to drive, car share with friends and reduce your impact by 50%. There’s a great network of cycle and footpaths in the area and bike racks are near the entrance. There are also electric car charging point and more to come in the future…
Is there a cloakroom?
The NEC has a cloakroom before you enter the Show. Visitors with a VIP Ticket will have access to a VIP Cloakroom in the VIP Lounge.
Do I need to book to see a speaker?
No need to book, our speaker program is included as part of your ticket and seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Will there be food stalls?
Yes, there will be a number of NEC-managed food stalls, and some of our exhibitors will sell packaged food items too.
Will I need ID?
We do not require ID to gain entry to the Show.
My question isn’t here
If you still have a question, please email us on [email protected]

What is the difference between Guaranteed Access and General Admission M&G?
A Guaranteed Access Meet & Greet ticket will offer you access to 4 limited M&G sessions. This ticket type is the only way to ensure you reach the front of the queue at these M&Gs, as general admission sessions may be cut short due to demand and scheduling.
Celebrities participating in the Guaranteed Access Meet & Greet Saturday pass will be: This Esme, Megan Elphick, Sam Dracott, and Mary & Emily King.
Sunday’s line-up consists of: This Esme, Megan Elphick, Sam Dracott, and Carl Hester
Not all the guests in this year’s speaker line-up will be running Meet & Greet sessions for general admission ticket holders. The general admission Meet & Greet agenda will be announced in due course once guests can confirm their availability. We expect any general admission queues to be very busy, meaning some queue members will not reach the front before the time we have with the speaker runs out.
What does the Guaranteed Access Pass get me?
1x entry ticket including all stage sessions, show features and shopping areas
Limited tickets available, providing shorter queueing time before your meet & greet
4x guaranteed meet & greet sessions taking place on the day of your booking
How long will I get with the Equestrian Star?
With a Guaranteed Access Pass, you’ll be able to snap a photo, get a signing (if the guest is happy to), and ask a question or two.
General admission ticket holders may also get a chance to get a signing or take a selfie but due to the availability of Equine Stars, some sessions may be cut short. To ensure as many people as possible have an opportunity to make it to the front of the line, we may limit busy sessions to just a photo.
How long will I queue?
The queue for Guaranteed Access Pass holders will last from 5 minutes - 1 hour depending on the time you arrive and your place in the queue.
Queues for General Admission ticket holders could last for up to 2 hours and can be cut at any time. Entering the queue does not secure your opportunity to meet the Equestrian Star.
What if I am late and miss one of the Meet & Greet sessions?
If you miss your designated time slot for a Meet & Greet session, you will not be able to meet the guest.
Can I pay less and meet one Equestrian Star?
The only Meet & Greet package you can purchase for the National Equine Show is £40 and offers the opportinity to meet four people.
Do I need a separate ticket to queue with my child?
If you wish to book a Guaranteed Access pass for your child, one parent/guardian will be permitted to join the queue, but will not be able to participate in the Meet & Greet session.
Can I access the Equine Lounge with a Guaranteed Access pass?
No, the Equine Lounge is a VIP area for speakers, industry guests and show ambassadors only.
How do I get to the NEC and what facilities are available?
What time can I arrive?
We allow entry to the hall any time during the day between 09:00 and 17:00 on Saturday and 09:00 and 16:00 on Sunday. Arrive before 9am on each day for a chance to be handed exclusive show gifts in the queue.
Where can I stay nearby?
We've officially partnered with EventBeds™ by NuBreed Hotels to give this year’s exhibitors and attendees access to exclusive discounts at carefully selected properties near the event.
Save up to 30% versus booking direct, and fully flexible rates are available.
Due to increasing demand we recommend you book asap through the EventBeds™ booking widget below
How can I travel sustainably to the show?
When planning your travel please consider your carbon footprint:
I’m in a wheelchair, is the venue accessible?
Yes, the venue is accessible for people with different needs. You can find out more information here: Disabled Visitors to the NEC | The NEC Birmingham but can also contact [email protected] to discuss how we can make the show as accessible as possible.
Will you have a quiet space available?
We will have a small area reserved should a visitor need a few moments away from the show floor – to find out more about this or speak to the team contact [email protected]
Can I bring my pet?
Only support animals are allowed inside the Hall.

Stuck, Safe, or Striving? Understanding Your Comfort Zone & How to Break Free
Your comfort zone is designed to keep you safe, but it can also keep you stuck. Push too hard, and fear takes over; stay too safe, and progress slows down. As a rider, understanding how to stretch your comfort zone without overwhelming yourself is key to building confidence. As an instructor, recognising when a rider is ready for the next step—or when they need to consolidate—can make all the difference. This session will help both riders and coaches understand the psychology behind the comfort zone and how to expand it in a way that builds real, lasting confidence.

Riding with Ghosts - How Past Experiences Shape Your Confidence in the Saddle
Every rider carries experiences that shape how they feel in the saddle, often without realizing it. A past fall, a difficult horse, or even a coach’s words can leave lasting imprints that create hesitation, tension, or self-doubt. If you’re a rider, you’ll gain insight into how these experiences might be affecting you now—and how to break free. If you’re a coach, this session will help you spot these hidden influences in your clients, giving you tools to help them overcome past setbacks and ride with confidence in the present.

Why 'Tick-Box' Goal Setting Fails Riders - And What to Do Instead
Traditional goal-setting methods like SMART goals don’t work for riders—because riding isn’t predictable! Unexpected setbacks, fluctuating confidence, and your horse’s needs can make rigid goals feel frustrating and unachievable. If you’re a rider, you’ll learn how to set flexible, adaptable goals that actually keep you motivated and moving forward. If you’re a coach, this session will show you a more effective way to help your riders set meaningful, achievable goals that keep them progressing—without unnecessary pressure or burnout.

Wasting Energy on the Wrong Battles? Mastering What's Truly in Your Control
Too many riders stress over things they can’t control—like the weather, the judge’s opinion, or how fresh their horse feels on competition day. But wasting energy on the uncontrollable only adds frustration and anxiety. As a rider, learning to focus on what is in your control will help you feel calmer and more in charge. As an instructor, helping clients shift their mindset away from external frustrations can drastically improve their confidence and performance. This session will teach you how to develop this essential skill—for yourself and for those you coach.

Riding Under Pressure - How to Handle Stress & Still Perform at Your Best
Pressure can either make or break a performance, and how you handle it determines your success. Stress affects both body and mind in the saddle, often showing up as tension, overthinking, or even freezing at critical moments. If you’re a rider, you’ll learn practical techniques to stay calm, focused, and in control when it matters most. If you’re a coach, you’ll gain a better understanding of how pressure affects your riders and how you can help them manage stress to perform at their best—whether in training, competition, or everyday riding.

Fear Doesn't Care About Your Level - But Here's How to Take Back Control
Fear doesn’t disappear just because you’re experienced—it just evolves. For riders, it might show up as hesitation in transitions, competition nerves, or avoiding certain situations altogether. For instructors, it can be harder to spot, as riders often disguise fear with excuses, tension, or frustration. In this session, you’ll learn how fear affects both riders and their horses, plus practical tools to manage it—whether for yourself or to better support your clients.

Racewoods’ Eventer Simulator is coming to the National Equine Show for you to try your skills as an eventer. The most advanced Equestrian Simulator, the Eventer does it all, from true-to-life Grand Prix dressage movements, such as Piaffe and Passage, to jumping grid work or negotiating technical combinations on the cross country course.
Thanks to its state-of-the-art, motion control technology it can replicate jumps of up to 1.20m high, and moves in a way no other simulator can. Come and meet with Polyjumps on the stand to discuss all of their products whilst trying out the simulator.
Are you giving yourself - and your horse - the best support?
Did you know 4 in 5 female riders are wearing the wrong size sports bra or aren't getting the support they need? Poor support doesn’t just impact your comfort - it can also affect your balance, posture, and connection with your horse.
As riders, we know every movement matters, and the right fit can make all the difference for both your performance and your horse's experience. That’s why MAAREE Sports Bras are here to help!
Join us at the National Equine Show in March for:
Free in-person sports bra fittings to find your perfect fit
The chance to test your support while riding the dressage simulator
Accommodating riders of all levels from beginners to the advanced. This horse simulator enables students to perfect advanced dressage movements, such as Piaffe, Passage and Half Pass, as well as being able to carry out basic arena work.
Discover sports bras designed for riders by women who understand your needs. Feel the difference for yourself - because when you're comfortable, your horse feels it too.
Find us at G60 - book your free fitting slot at the show today

2023 saw 26 year old Ingham make the history books once more with a milestone win and becoming the first British combination to win the prestigious SAP Cup at CHIO Aachen, as well as being selected as a member of the team for the FEI European Championships achieving a Team Gold medal.
Yasmin’s 2024 seasonal campaign has seen her return to the Defender Kentucky Horse Trials where she took the 3rd place podium spot at the 5* event having maintained top 3 positions overnight throughout the duration of the event.

Raised on the tiny, car-free Channel Island of Sark, Carl’s early connection with horses was natural and inevitable. His first equine experience involved riding a stubborn donkey to the village shop, a task that sparked a lifelong passion for riding. Growing up, Carl honed his skills on the island’s ponies and horses, often driving carriages for tourists and participating in the annual Sark horse show.
At 19, Carl ventured to the mainland, starting his professional journey at the Fortune Centre in Hampshire, where he discovered a talent for competitive riding, winning the 1985 Young Dressage Rider Championship. His career advanced further in Gloucestershire, where he refined his horsemanship under the mentorship of Jannie and Christopher Taylor.
The turning point came when Dr. Bechtolsheimer invited Carl to join his prestigious yard, leading to Carl’s participation in the 1990 World Championships, the 1991 European Championships, and the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, where he became the youngest British rider to compete.
Today, Carl is a successful dressage rider and trainer, known for his meticulous approach and unwavering dedication to his horses and students. His journey from the sleepy island of Sark to the heights of international equestrian sport is a testament to his talent, hard work, and passion for horses.
